I am a postdoctoral fellow in the mechanical engineering department at Northwestern University Evanston, Illinois since September 2008. Dr. Wing Kam Liu, the Walter P. Murphy Distinguished Professor of Engineering is my advisor. My research interests encompass applied mechanics, multiscale and multiphysics modeling and bioengineering. Earlier, I graduated from Purdue University with a Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering where I worked on my dissertation under the guidance of Dr. Chin-Teh Sun, the Neil Armstrong Distinguished Professor of Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering. My doctoral dissertation focused on the understanding of deformation and failure of nanostructured materials using atomistic modeling and simulations. I received my bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh, in Summer 2000. The next one year, I worked as an undergraduate instructor in the same department. I started my graduate studies at Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, Alabama, in Summer 2001 and obtained my masters degree in Mechanical Engineering in Spring 2004. |
